High on Himalayas Interviews the Couple On Bike

An Interview with Yogesh and Rajni

#1 Who are you and What got you into traveling?

We, the Couple On Bike (Yogesh & Rajni) are bloggers by profession and bikers by choice. We both share the same passion for travelling. We started travelling randomly by going on a small bike ride to Sariska in Rajasthan and the bug bit us hard and our love for has kept us going. Wish for more travel.

#2 What is your favourite Himalayan destination and Why ?

Lahual Spiti! It is one of the most adventurous places in India where we spent 15 days and loved each and every thing about the place. From snow-peaked mountains to small water streams, waterfalls, pin bend turns, pathways where there are actually no roads, adventure and much more. Infact, Spiti is a complete package where you get to witness beautiful landscapes and get the adrenal rush simultaneously.

#3 What sort of a traveler are you ?

We are not much into luxury travels instead we prefer to camp wherever possible, stay with the locals, know about their culture and lifestyle. Moreover, we prefer having simple local food at some dhaba and big fancy delicacies at huge restaurants are a big no no.

#4 What’s your best and worst experience in the Himalayas ?

Best experience: We are more of mountain people and every trip we take to Himalayas is best experience. To list down one, during our trip to Chandratal in October 2016, we were riding to reach our destination and it started snowing. Can’t describe the experience in words but it was indeed worth it.

Worst experience: There is no experience that we categorise as the worst one but whilst we were there enjoying the beauty Chandratal lake in Lahual Spiti, we were not able to breathe properly and somehow to avoid any consequences of staying there for long, we decided to head back. We so wanted to stay back for a while but we couldn’t.

#5 What tip would you like to give to fellow travellers?

One and the foremost tip would be, to travel safely and responsibly.
Safely for the fact that you’ve got one life, don’t do anything that can hinder you to follow your travel passion.
By Responsibly we mean, not to do anything of the sort that can cause harm to the locals or environment.
